Axelera, a global competitiveness cluster for the chemical and environment sectors
Axelera is the competitive cluster for the chemical and environment sectors in Lyon and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Its mission is to create value by facilitating innovative and competitive solutions for the chemical, environment and energy industries, and then promoting them on an international scale from a solid regional base.
Created in 2005 by 6 founding members: ARKEMA, CNRS, ENGIE, IFP Energies nouvelles, SOLVAY and SUEZ, Axelera is supported in its functioning by 8 funding partners: the State, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the Metropole de Lyon, Grenoble-Alpes Métropole, the General Councils of Drôme, Isère, Haute-Savoie and Loire.
It currently brings over 320 members together – including companies (SMEs, ETI, groups), research laboratories and training organizations in the chemical and environmental sectors – around 5 strategic axes:
- Renewable raw materials
- The eco-efficient factory
- Materials and products for industrial sectors
- Recycling and recyclability
- The conservation and restoration of natural and urban spaces
It proposes a range of services from support to innovation, including assistance for economic and international development, networking and the development of skills.
