Montréal en Lumière, one of the largest winter festivals in the world, is taking place this year in the entertainment district of Montréal, from February 23rd to March 11th. For the 18th edition, festival-goers will enjoy the wintry fun of a whole range of activities spotlighting movies, music and visual arts, not to mention great food!

On the occasion of the 375th anniversary of the city of Montreal, the festival has invited chefs from all over the world. As a capital of art, culture and gastronomy, it is only natural that the City of Lyon be the star of the event this year.

On the program: a culinary adventure has been crafted by a delegation of 14 Lyon chefs, led by Jérôme Bocuse and Christophe Muller. This is a great chance for visitors to discover Lyon’s traditional cooking, and of course the famous wines of the region.

Montréal en Lumière 2017 is also a unique opportunity to strengthen the ties between the two cities, following on the signing in November 2016 of a protocol of agreement. The partnership aims to support companies from both cities in the Life Sciences and health technology sector so that they can expand into international markets.

In addition, Greater Montreal and Greater Lyon are now even better connected since the opening in June 2016 of direct flights between Lyon and Montréal by Air Canada. This strategic line will certainly boost trade and cultural exchanges between the two cities.
