EPISKIN SA  is a Lyon-based laboratory which has developed an innovative technique for reconstructing the epidermis from a human skin sample, which makes it possible to stop using animals for tolerance tests or  for testing cosmetic ingredients and finished products.

The company developed its first reconstituted skin kit in 1994, and was then acquired by L’Oréal in 1997. In 2006 EPISKIN acquired the company SKINETHIC, thus becoming the world leader in reconstructed tissues. Episkin’s 3,600 square meters of laboratory are located at Lyonbiopôle in the heart of the Lyon-Gerland Biodistrict .

In 2017, Episkin is celebrating its 20th anniversary and will organize an international seminar on June 22-23 in Lyon (Sofitel Hotel). The event will be the opportunity to review all of the various methods  offered by the company and their future, and to present the latest results in biomedical research using 3D models.

The seminar will attract scientists from all over the world working with alternative types of tests, performance and safety tests using 3D models. The presentations will be made primarily by clients who use Episkin’s models.
