ADERLY 2014 RESULTS: LYON’S ATTRACTIVENESS CONFIRMED!
Aderly has set a new record! In 2014, no fewer than 80 companies chose to invest in Lyon, generating 1922 jobs over the next three years in the region (against 77 projects attracted, creating 1859 jobs in 2013). Over half these relocations concern the region’s two sectors of excellence on which Aderly continues to focus its efforts: life sciences and eco-technologies. No fewer than 12 of these 80 investments concerned R&D centres – thus confirming the region’s excellence in these sectors and its ability to attract innovative companies and projects.
No less significant was the return in 2014 of a number of major international industrial projects, such as the announcement by the American group Hexcel of an investment of $250 million, the new €70 million investment by the German group Frésénius or indeed the relocation of a production site by the Belgian group Vandemoortele.
Lyon thus confirms its status as a highly attractive European city and is featured among the rankings of the 15 leading world cities (IBM – PLI 2014 ranking) as well as being the 7th leading European city. The Lyon metropolitan area has successfully pursued a policy of attracting new business based on the quality of its innovation and higher education potential, the power of its regional marketing and the effectiveness of its prospecting activities.
Since its creation in 1974, Aderly has supported over 1500 companies and generated around 27,000 direct jobs, including some of the major names that today form the cornerstones of the Lyon economy: Lafarge, euronews, Genzyme…
