The 9th edition of Biovision, World Life Sciences Forum, will take place on the 5th and 6th June 2014 in Lyon. The event is funded by the University of Lyon Foundation with assistance from Greater Lyon, the Rhone County Council and the Rhône-Alpes Regional Council, alongside partners like Aderly, Lyonbiopôle  (world competitive cluster for life sciences) and the University of Lyon.

The objective of this annual event is to bring together the most important decision-makers from the academic, private, political and social sectors in order to transform innovative ideas into concrete solutions that will benefit citizens.

Unique in Europe and an original concept, the Biovision format favours interaction between participants through an intensive programme of conferences, workshops, presentations and individual meetings. The previous edition brought together 2,800 participants of 65 different nationalities, 3 Nobel prize-winners and a number of foreign delegations from countries including Brazil, Germany and China.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and China in 2014, Biovision will be honouring China. The 2014 programme will include an opening plenary session on the theme of “Disruptive Innovation”, with 2 plenary sessions planned around the subjects “vaccines and immunotherapy” and “taking good care”. There will also be an “Investor Conference” for investors which will enable health-related start-ups to meet with industrial partners and potential financial investors.
