ECO-TECHNOLOGY AND INDUSTRY 2013 NEW COMPANIES
This year, 77 companies chose to set up or expand their activities in Lyon, with the support of Aderly. Numerous business sectors are represented and Cleantech & industry counts 30 new-comers (check the full list) planning to create 710 jobs in the medium run. Here are some of them:
TOZZI is an Italian company from Mezzano in Trentino-Alto Adige, active in the design and development of electrical circuits for power sector and oil services. TOZZI HOLDING counts more than 500 employees worldwide and generates a consolidated turnover of more than € 200 million annually. To strengthen its business, while diversifying its expertise and activities in the broad field of energy and carrier, TOZZI has opened a sales office in the center of Lyon, getting closer to their clients.
KWB is an Austrian manufacturer of wood boilers. The company is a unique European company with its own R&D center dedicated to biomass. Today it has established itself as a leader in modern automatic pellet boilers, split logs and wood chips boilers. KWB decides to open a sales subsidiary in Lyon with a showroom and a training center in order to get closer to their French clients.
REFLEX belongs to the German group Reflex Winkelmann (3,000 employees worldwide) and has a turnover of 500 million €. Specializing in heating, system engineering (pressure regulator for heating and drinking water, expansion tank) they chose to enter the French market by establishing its headquarters in the heart of the business district of La Part-Dieu. This newcomer reinforces the supply and skills well developed on the HVAC market in the region.
LUSTUCRU Frais, based in Saint-Genis-Laval near Lyon, the Spanish group produces pasta and precooked food sold in supermarkets. Lustucru is nearing completion of its future factory in Communay (7,000 m²). This new production line and storage area will be the third site in the Rhône district. A first production of gnocchis will start in the Fall of 2014, and a second one, of Lunch Box, is expected in 2015.
CMI (Cockerill Maintenance & Engineering) is an international contractor, specialized in Energy, Defense, and Steel Industry. The role of CMI is to conceive, integrate, modernize and maintain industrial complexes and equipments. The company has set up its regional headquarter and activities in Lyon to further develop its activity outside Belgium. They plan to recruit 50 persons over 3 years. For André MARTINEZ, Director Cmi France Centre : « Lyon/Rhône-Alpes is a major hub in Europe with many industry leaders. Those are our customers, and CMI chose to set up and develop in LYON to satisfy them in terms of proximity, competitiveness and efficiency.”
WINDSTROM group develops, builds and operates wind farms since the early 90’s in Germany and other European countries (France, Italy, Poland and Bulgaria). Its business also covers the technical and commercial management of the operating companies. The headquarters is based in Auray (France). Windstrom opened a sales office in Lyon to better cover the French territory.
TERRAVENT is an investment company in European wind farms, created in 2011, which includes six of the major Swiss energy suppliers. Following the acquisition of four wind farms in the north and the south of France, the company decided to create a decision-making centre to be closer to operational actors and establish their long-term presence in France. They chose Lyon for its location and easy access to their sites.
