<P>&nbsp;</P> <P align=justify>Based in <A title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/centre-recherche-et/biotechnology-cluster-lyon,p,21,EN.jsp" target=_blank>Lyon Gerland</A>, the <A title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/lyon-biopole-pole-centre-recherche-scientifique/index,p,98,EN.jsp" target=_blank>Lyonbiop&#244;le</A> competitiveness cluster isn&#8217;t hiding its <STRONG>ambitions</STRONG>. Specialising in the <STRONG>fight against infectious diseases and cancers in humans and</STRONG> <STRONG>animals</STRONG>, Lyonbiop&#244;le has just signed a performance contract for 2013-2018 and is thus entering the &#8220;3.0&#8221; phase of its development. The common goal for this phase, decided at a national level, is <STRONG>to increase the economic impact of its structures</STRONG>. </P> <P align=justify><BR>To fit in with the industrialisation of collaborative R&amp;D projects, Lyonbiop&#244;le is focussing on four<STRONG><EM> &#8220;strategic fields of action</EM></STRONG>&#8221;: human medication, veterinary medication, in-vitro diagnostics, medical initiatives and medical technologies. As for the development priorities, they will include &#8220;stimulating and valuing innovation&#8221;, &#8220;supporting businesses&#8221;, &#8220;developing the cluster internationally and increasing its attractiveness&#8221;, &#8220;involving training providers&#8221;, and &#8220;offering unique infrastructure with the infectiology centre, the Accinov bio-production platform and the BioAster research institute&#8221;.&nbsp; </P> <P align=justify><BR>To ensure they are in regional pole position in the sector,<STRONG> being open to new themes</STRONG> is one of the strategies the cluster is putting in place. At the start of the year Lyonbiop&#244;le and the&nbsp; <A title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/adm1n/editor/www.canceropole-clara.com" target=_blank>Lyon Auvergne Rh&#244;ne-Alpes Canceropole (Clara)</A> announced that they would be cooperating more closely. Discussions with the<A title="" href="http://www.i-carecluster.org/" target=_blank>I-Care cluster </A>(health technologies in Lyon) or the Technologies Hub (Saint-Etienne) have also been mentioned with a view to working together more effectively in the future.&nbsp; <BR>&nbsp;</P> <P><BR></P>
