Euronews, the European news channel created in Lyon in 1993, is achieving very good results according to the latest EMS (European Media and Marketing Survey) Study, which measures the consumer habits of well-off European households.
According to the findings of the survey, Euronews is the only international news channel to increase its monthly TV viewing figures, with a rise of 3%, whilst its competitors, like CNN International and BBC World News, have had negative results.
The Euronews channel broadcasts continually in thirteen languages and employs 400 journalists of more than 30 different nationalities. Its website, Euronews.com, has also seen a large 26% rise in the number of visitors.
It is the first international news channel based in Europe and will move to new premises in the Confluence area of Lyon in 2014.
