NEW SET-UPS: 71 COMPANIES MOVED TO LYON IN 2012!
<p> </p> <p align="justify">In 2012, <strong>71 companies chose to move to Lyon and benefited from Aderly’s assistance in the process</strong>. These new businesses are expected to create 1,859 jobs within three years. <strong>A record for Aderly!</strong> This result is well above the annual target of 60 new companies and 1,800 jobs. Among the newcomers, more than <strong>60% are foreign-owned</strong>. The most active countries were Germany (11 companies) and the United States (6 companies).</p> <p align="justify"><br> </p> <p align="justify">The new set-ups cover a wide range of sectors but the most numerous were those in <strong><a title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/environnement-lyon/chemestry-environment-industry,p,64,EN.jsp" target="_blank"><strong>green technologies</strong> and <strong>industry</strong> </a></strong>(29 companies), which are a priority for the Lyon area and so Aderly devotes extra resources to attracting such business. Also of note were <a title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/tertiary_business_location/index,p,100070,EN.jsp" target="_blank">service industries </a>(B2B, banking/insurances and ICT) representing more than 30 of the newcomer businesses. <strong><a title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/biotechnologie-france-europe/life-science-biotechnology-cluster-france-europe,p,6,EN.jsp" target="_blank"><strong>Life sciences</strong> </a></strong>were also well represented, with 11 new companies.</p> <p align="justify"><br>Other highlights include: R&D centers, with 7 openings, which confirms the trends of the past two years and proves the attractiveness of the Lyon region in terms of human and scientific resources. As for office premises, the take-up this year of 14,323 square meters is far above the annual target of 10,000 sq. m. set by the Board of Aderly.</p> <p align="justify"><br><a title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/compagnie-developpement-france/set-setting-up-company-development-europe-france,p,49,EN.jsp" target="_blank">Aderly, the Lyon Area Economic Development Agency</a>, is one of the top such organizations in France. It was founded in 1974 by the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Greater Lyon, Medef Lyon-Rhône employers’ association and Rhône County. These entities continue to administer and finance the Agency.
