<p>&nbsp;</p> <p align="justify">The Chinese group Haier, <strong>the world&#8217;s leading brand of major appliances</strong>, has set up at Caluire-et-Cuire to the north of Lyon. Haier chose the Lyon region as the site for<strong> its second European R&amp;D center, which will be dedicated to its new Home Solutions division</strong>. The mission of the on-site teams is to develop a comprehensive range of heating, cooling and domestic hot water systems for the residential and commercial markets in Europe. <strong>The group selected Lyon because of the unique thermal engineering expertise and high quality, suitably skilled workforce available in the area.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p align="justify">To establish itself in the Lyon area, Haier sought <a title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/services-aderly/index,p,100003,EN.jsp" target="_blank">Aderly&#8217;s assistance </a>in identifying potential sites and finding HVAC engineers. <strong>With an investment of &#8364;1 million over two years, the goal is to create a total of 12 jobs here by the end of 2013</strong>. &#8220;<em>Our new Home Solutions division is a strategic move for the Haier Group. By setting up an R&amp;D center in France, we will be in a position to develop products adapted to the demands and expectations of the European market</em>,&#8221; said Ren&#233; Aubertin, CEO for Haier Europe.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p align="justify">The group employs 80,000 people worldwide and achieved consolidated sales of &#8364;23.3 billion in 2011. In Europe, the &#8220;Home Solutions&#8221; division, aimed at the professional installers&#8217; market, represents sales of &#8364;150 million.<br></p> <p></p>
