Thanks to a<STRONG> smartcard link that now exists between the <A style="COLOR: #e02020" title="" href="http://www.lyon-france.com/lyon-city-card" target=_blank>Lyon City Card </A>and the program that runs the <A style="COLOR: #e02020" title="" href="http://www.velov.grandlyon.com/" target=_blank>V&#233;lo&#8217;V</A> rental stations, it is possible to use the rental bikes at a more reasonable rate:</STRONG> &#8364;3 for three days, which are added to the &#8364;21 to &#8364;41 charge depending on the card&#8217;s duration. &#8220;<EM>It&#8217;s a world first</EM>&#8221;, according to Gilles Vesco, <A style="COLOR: #e02020" title="" href="http://www.grandlyon.com/" target=_blank>Greater Lyon</A>&#8217;s Vice President in charge of new transportation methods.<STRONG> Lyon today has almost 4,000 V&#233;lo&#8217;V spread out across 300 stations throughout the city.</STRONG></P> <P align=justify><BR>Implemented by the <A style="COLOR: #e02020" title="" href="http://www.lyon-france.com/" target=_blank>Lyon Tourism Office</A>, <STRONG>the Lyon City Card is like a key to the city, including 31 services </STRONG>(museums, guided visits, river cruises&#8230;). It includes Lyon public transport, and, as Fran&#231;ois Gaillard, Lyon Tourism Office and Convention Director, explains, &#8220;<EM>The card is for </EM><A style="COLOR: #e02020" title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/france-patrimoine/culture-et-patrimoine,p,42,EN.jsp" target=_blank><EM>tourists</EM></A><EM> passing through as well as for local tourists</EM>.&#8221; Launched in 2007, the Lyon City Card has already attracted 70,000 clients. <STRONG>This year, approximately 15,000 will be sold, and that will most likely double in 2013.</STRONG> The Tourism Office is planning to sell them in city hotels.</P> <P align=justify></P>
