<P>&nbsp;</P> <P align=justify><A title="" href="http://www.merieuxnutrisciences.fr/fr/fra" target=_blank><STRONG>M&#233;rieux NutriSciences</STRONG></A><STRONG>, a company that helps to improve nutrition and food safety around the world, has announced that it is buying the Italian laboratory Chelab so as to strengthen its chemical analysis capabilities.</STRONG> Chelab, a laboratory performing chemical, microbiological and biological analyses in the food, <A style="COLOR: #e02020" title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/pharmaceutique_biotech/index,p,100044,EN.jsp" target=_blank>pharmaceutical</A>, <A style="COLOR: #e02020" title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/cosmetique-fashion-france/industrie-cosmetique-recherche-lyon,p,63,EN.jsp" target=_blank>cosmetology </A>and <A style="COLOR: #e02020" title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/entreprise-chimie/prevention-pollution,p,224,EN.jsp" target=_blank>environmental</A> domains, had sales of &#8364;45 million in 2011. <STRONG>&#8220;<EM>Our food activity has a strong base in microbiology, but for the past few years we have been aiming to strengthen ourselves in </EM><A style="COLOR: #e02020" title="" href="https://www.aderly.com/industrie-chimie/sciences-chimie-entreprise,p,223,EN.jsp" target=_blank><EM>chemistry</EM></A><EM>,</EM></STRONG><EM> in order to perform tests measuring nutritional value, and to detect pesticide and antibiotics residues</EM>,&#8221; explains Philippe Sans, Director of M&#233;rieux NutriSciences.</P> <P align=justify><BR><STRONG>M&#233;rieux NutriScience is an integral part of the <A style="COLOR: #e02020" title="" href="http://www.institut-merieux.com/" target=_blank>Lyon M&#233;rieux institute </A>and includes 70 laboratories throughout the world.</STRONG> Through acquisitions,<STRONG> M&#233;rieux NutriSciences has doubled its activity in five years,</STRONG> reaching, with the acquisition of Chelab, sales of $430 million and 4,800 employees in 18 countries.<STRONG> &#8220;<EM>Our strategy is to develop a global industrial tool,</EM></STRONG><EM> particularly in developing countries.
