Part Dieu is a veritable multimodal platform in the heart of the city. Offering direct and rapid links to Paris and Marseille and other major European cities, quick and easy access to Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport (30 minutes) via the Rhônexpress, along with the citys excellent public transport system to get around town.
The district is undergoing extensive development work. In 2010, the city's second largest skyscraper, the Oxygène Tower, was inaugurated near the current Crédit Lyonnais tower and the TGV station. Another tower is planned for 2014 and other new innovative buildings are soon to come. Almost 200,000 sq. m of new or newly-renovated offices will be delivered within the next 5 years.
