2006 saw the beginning of construction on Lyon’s second skyscraper, the Oxygène Tower, near the current Crédit Lyonnais Tower and the TGV station.

Designed by Arte Charpentier, the Oxygène Tower, 115 meters high, will feature a shopping complex with 11,000 sq. meters of sales area and 28,000 sq. meters of office space. The SNCF has already announced its plans to set up its national Purchasing, IT and Telecom Divisions in this new building.
Construction began in April 2007 and should be completed by the end of 2009.

• Stories: 28 floors
• Surface area leased to the SNCF: 16,000 sq. m (1st through 17th floors)

• Occupancy at end of March 2007: 60%
• Subdivisions: full floor area of 1,000 sq. m. on each story can be divided into spaces of 300 sq. m.

• The tower is pre-equipped to accommodate 2,000 workstations
• Parking: 420 underground spaces on 4 levels
• Elevators: 7 (speed of 4 m/s)
