Lyon, a reference in dermocosmetology in France
In Lyon, dermocosmetology draws its resources from the rich tissue fabric of its chemical industry, where the raw materials are given a breath of innovation by the life sciences. The field also benefits from the presence of world-class competitive biotechnology clusters based in Lyon such as Lyonbiopôle, Axelera and Techtera.
Dermatology and cosmetology are a significant part of the medical research in France. A fusion of both dermatological and beauty treatment, dermocosmetology is one of the health sectors most dynamic industries. Some major companies already in Lyon
As a leading region in the medical research in France, L'Oréal is growing in Lyon
The new predictive evaluation center of LOréal: according to LOréal, this is a premiere in the cosmetics industry. Benefiting from the local business development opportunities, the worlds leading personal care manufacturer has just inaugurated in Lyon, France, a centre dedicated to the predictive evaluation of the safety and efficacy of cosmetics ingredients and finished products.
Continuing LOréals operations in skin engineering dedicated to safety assessment, in particular through its Episkin SNC subsidiary, the new Predictive Evaluation Centre is the outcome of 30 years of research and investments.
Its main purpose ? To address LOréals ambition "to remain a pioneer in the technological advancement of evaluation and innovation" says Jean-Paul Agon, the groups President and CEO. Indeed, LOréal already handles several tools and softwares and reconstructed human tissues, and has gained expertise in technologies such as tissue engineering, molecule design, imaging, modelling and automated test platforms, that allow the group to reduce the number of clinical tests as well as time to market.
